Hello, my name is Nicole Sharpe.
A graphic designer specialising in branding, motion graphics, vector illustration and videography.
ABOUT NICO
Nico is a multidisciplinary creative; born and raised in Manchester, UK — now living in London and looking for work.
She boasts a strong work ethic and drive to achieve goals, constantly furthering her growth as an individual.
After freelancing for many years, I aspire to better myself and extend my career by becoming part of a team, working in a like-minded agency and thriving from surrounding myself with creative minds in the industry that I’m passionate about. I’m very eager to learn new skills and confident enough to give feedback and discuss new ideas.
My keen interest in the designers of the 60s & 70s influences my desire for practical, functional design — emphasising the effectiveness of honesty & simplicity, with a touch of playfulness.
In my spare time I enjoy attending gigs, growing my own vegetables, collecting records, cooking, creating, reading and travelling.

Personal Branding
✦ Personal Branding
This is my personal logo. I needed something that I felt reflected myself and my ethics as a designer. I tend to work within the boundaries of geometric shapes and grids when designing (unless the problem I’m solving requires me to do otherwise) so naturally I started out with shapes on a grid and progressed from there.
I wanted the logo to be playful and approachable to potential clients yet firm and professional, with a touch of my own personality embedded in it — whilst also being a nod to some of my abilities as a designer. I achieved this by bringing it to life in Adobe After Effects using trim paths, scale and rotation.

This is a character walk cycle animation that I created using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects.
Inspired by Tony Babel, a designer/animator that I really love.

Self Love
This was modelled and rendered in Blender. Starting off as an illustration before being scanned and taken into Adobe illustrator, vectorised, converted to an SVG and then tweaked, stylised and animated in Blender.
Living ‘N’ Breathing
This was an experimentation into Dynamic Cloth Inflation in Cinema 4D.
Perilous Dancer (sound warning!)
This one is an old favourite, one of the first 3D renders I ever did, back in 2017 when I began exploring Cinema 4D. Looking at it now there’s so much that I would change about it - mainly editing the collider tags on the geometry beneath the hair modules so the hair doesn’t pass through the body and instead sits on it nicely — but I still love it. Probably because I love Mild High Club too.
Song: Mild High Club - Chapel Perilous

Lost Horizon VR Festival
✦
Lost Horizon VR Festival ✦
During lockdown, Glastonbury was postponed and in its stead stood Lost Horizon, a Virtual Reality festival proclaimed as “the world’s biggest virtual reality music and arts festival”.
I was asked to create a poster for the ‘Yours Truthfully’ exhibition at Lost Horizon Festival in a few days — The theme I was given was “Truth” and what it meant to me in those times. George Floyd was killed in the street by police very close to this time so it felt only right to express my thoughts on the matter and portray a truth I feel people often lose sight of. The photo on the bottom right was taken by me at the Manchester BLM protests, social distancing and PPE practiced.
Leave a message and I’ll get in touch!
